The Midlands Highways Alliance (MHA), The Midlands Service Improvement Group (MSIG) and the NHT Network have each made a commitment to support the Connect & Share initiative, now being managed by NHT, and other networks are expected to follow suit. A new practice-sharing web site has been created www.hmepconnectandshare.org where practice notes, case studies, presentations, useful documents and more can be shared. The site has a system of tags so that searching for relevant information is very straightforward.
For example: Clicking on Efficiency in the Tag Cloud will bring up a list of the available case studies
The site has been set up so that every local authority has its own page, under the region to which it belongs. Each Network has its own section and contributions from supply chain members are also most welcome.
The name of any Authority, within each region, that has shared practice information is hyperlinked so it is easy to see where contributions have come from and to also access information by that route if desired.
This resource will only come into its own if more organisations and networks are willing to share practice. There is a disclaimer on the site, which says that anyone using the site needs to make their own judgment about how useful the shared practice might be for their needs as there is no judicial body, currently, to decide what might be ‘Good’ practice. So, for any practice, innovation, efficiency, useful documents, news items etc. that you have used, seen or know about, please send the information to firstname.lastname@example.org and let others make up their own minds if it would be helpful for them.
