2021 Record Participation from
From Across the Country
Another great year for the NHT Network with record numbers of Authorities taking part in both the NHT Public Satisfaction Survey and the CQC Efficiency Network. NHT has the largest authority membership of any benchmarking network in the sector and both the NHT Survey and CQC Network are recognised by DfT.
NHT Survey Participation
111 Authorities are using the NHT Public Satisfaction Survey in 2021 across England and Scotland, including 92% of all English Highway Authorities outside of London. The Survey has run for 14 years and collected the views of over 1.2 million members of the public. With 410,000 households surveyed this year across 209 individual questions, the Survey offers authorities an unrivalled service to compare the views of their public with others and track trends in perception over time.

CQC Efficiency Network Participation
There are 95 members in the CQC Efficiency Network In 2021/22, which represents 81% of all English Highway Authorities (outside of London). The Network, which is run in partnership with the Institute of Transport Studies at Leeds University, has been operating for 7 years and has quantified the real efficiency savings made by the sector over that period. Members are also able to use NHT’s Performance Management Framework, PMF, to benchmark their performance against a hierarchy of asset based performance indicators.
